Michael (Mick) Thorsland, Founder and President. Mick has been in the real estate business for more than 30 years. Mick formed Venture Mortgage in 1990 after First Bank System (FBS) in Minneapolis discontinued its commercial mortgage operations in 1989. Mick was a Vice President and Manager for FBS.

Peter Hennen, Vice President. Peter has been in the real estate business for more than 25 years. Before joining Venture Mortgage in 1994, he was an Assistant Vice President for Towle Financial Services, Inc.

Steve Petersen, Vice President. Steve has been in the real estate business for more than 20 years. Before joining Venture Mortgage in 1995, he was an Associate Portfolio Manager for Lutheran Brotherhood.

Nicki Kunz, Assistant Vice President. Nicki has been in the real estate business and with Venture Mortgage for more than 12 years. She is responsible for all aspects of the loan closing process.

Traci Kennedy, Assistant Vice President. Traci has been with Venture Mortgage since 2001. She is responsible for the packaging of all loans, annual financial analysis of existing loans and assisting Nicki with the closing process.

Brian North, Assistant Vice President. Brian has been in the real estate business for more than 7 years. Before joining Venture Mortgage in 2007, he was a sales associate and selling sales manger for Pulte Homes.

Joe Shaw, Senior Consultant. Joe has been in the real estate business for more than 35 years. Before coming to Venture Mortgage in 1998, he worked in the Appraisal/Consultation Division of Towle Real Estate Co.

Chris Anderson, Servicing Manager. Chris has been in the real estate business for more than 25 years. Before joining Venture Mortgage in 1990, she was a Servicing Supervisor for FBS Financial, Inc. She is responsible for the servicing of our loan portfolio.

Patricia (Pat) Fox, Administrative Assistant. Pat began working for Venture Mortgage in 2002. She is our administrative person and is responsible for assisting Traci with the packaging of all loans, answering the telephones, and assuring a quick response to any questions our clients may have.
