Venture Mortgage Corporation is seeking a Commercial Mortgage Banker to foster and develop our primary business of commercial real estate mortgage origination while taking advantage of the mentorship and support of successful and experienced commercial mortgage bankers and other key team members. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not expressly limited to:

§  From a provided database of prospects, make telephone calls to owners of commercial real estate to advise and explain the benefits of using Venture Mortgage as a partner when seeking debt. You will also work to develop your own leads and prospects through referrals and networking at events and other opportunities.

§  Make use of a combination of company provided software, public databases, and online search engines to aggregate relevant data for the use of Venture Mortgage Corporation’s attempts to monitor the market and increase loan origination volume.

§  After engaging borrowers and receiving financial data, evaluate potential investments for submission to lenders, including internal underwriting and creation of loan submission packages.

§  Work to build and maintain relationships with commercial real estate investors, lenders, and other industry partners.

We seek a candidate who possesses the following attributes:

§  Has completed a 4-year degree from an accredited institution in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a closely related field or, in lieu of a degree, has 6 or more years of related experience in sales, finance, commercial real estate, or commercial lending.

§  Dynamic and compelling demeanor with excellent written and verbal communication skills; is disciplined, structured, focused and is able to set goals and see them to completion.

§  Is coachable, eager to learn, comfortable with ambiguity, well-versed in the jargon of lending and commercial real estate banking or has the ability to become so, has an aptitude for financial analysis, and has the ability to be proactive and adapt to new situations with relative ease.

§  An active MN Real Estate license is strongly preferred.
